So I was walking along Gateway this morning on my way to work, when the Philippine National Anthem started playing. Being the apathetic citizen that I am, I didn’t bother stopping and just continued walking. To my surprise, all the other people walking stopped to sing or whatever, and gave me harsh looks for not stopping. I’m like, whatever retards. 

What’s funny is upon arriving at the mrt station, the same people who stopped for the national anthem are the same people who won’t fall in line for the train. The same people who will step on you or hit you with their elbow upon entering the train. The same people who will cuss and maybe even steal your wallets and phones. 

Dear Filipinos, call me when you don’t have fake nationalism anymore.

  1. chayenne said: This was my reaction when I went to the cinema w/ Chi one time. It was the last showing & the national anthem started playing. I almost got into a fistfight w/ the usher who kept insisting I had to stand & honor the flag. Talk about empty gestures.
